President briefs National Council about outcomes of contacts on Cyprus problem

The National Council, the top advisory body to the President regarding the handling of the Cyprus issue, is convened on Thursday morning at the Presidential Palace. This is the first National Council meeting to be chaired by President Nikos Christodoulides.

During the meeting, President Christodoulides will inform the members of the Council about the results of his contacts during his official visit to Greece, about the talks he had in Nicosia with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Rosemary DiCarlo, as well as about the contacts which he had in Brussels, on the sidelines of the European Council session and his participation in the European People’s Party (EPP) session, aiming, among other things, to promote his proposal for a more active engagement of the EU in efforts to lift the deadlock in the Cyprus problem.
