President Anastasiades to participate in EU southern member summit

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades departs on Wednesday for Rome, where he will participate in the 4th summit of the seven southern EU member states, along with the heads of state or government of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Malta.

According to a press release, in the framework of the meeting, which will begin on Wednesday evening, the heads of state or government will discuss issues concerning the Economic and Monetary Union, the EU migration policy, and the promotion of an ambitious vision safeguarding growth, employment, and investments.

They will also attend a working dinner and will make statements to the press.

President Anastasiades, who will be accompanied by Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides, will be returning to Cyprus on January 11.
