Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has expressed on Monday the hope that all international actors involved in the Cyprus issue will soon realize that Turkey`s negative stance on Cyprus issue is not in line with the UN resolutions and conventions.
In his statements entering the 38th Annual General Assembly of the Union of Cyprus Municipalities and asked about the appointment by the United Nations of a Special Envoy for the Cyprus issue, President Anastasiades said that an appointment until end of the year, should be considered final.
He said that he hopes that the UN Secretary General, those involved in the Cyprus issue and the EU as well, will realise that the unacceptable situation cannot be continued and that the unacceptable demands and the provocative actions of Turkey are in contrast with the UN resolutions and conventions.
