President Anastasiades briefs OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President on Turkish provocations in Cyprus’ EEZ

President Anastasiades received on Tuesday the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President George Tsereteli whom he briefed on the Turkish provocations in the islands exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

Tsereteli who pays Cyprus a visit, met earlier with Demetris Syllouris, the President of the Parliament.

During the meeting, President Anastasiades briefed Tsereteli on the current state of affairs in Cyprus and referred to the efforts made by the Government to deal with the situation, following the Turkish provocative acts in Cyprus EEZ.

Anastasiades, according to a press release, praised OSCEs activities for peace and stability and excellent cooperation between states members and referred to the role the parliamentary diplomacy can play to this end.

Tsereteli said that OSCE considers Cyprus an important partner and praised the existing bilateral cooperation. He added that Cyprus is a model country among the OSCE member states and especially the smaller ones. OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President also expressed the Organizations support to the efforts for a peaceful solution to the Cyprus problem.
