Cyprus Ministry of Health announced on Friday 244 new COVID-19 cases after conducting 11,163 tests (PCR and rapid), bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 28,609. Positivity rate decreased, to 2.19% from 2.33% on Thursday.
No deaths were reported from the disease, so the tally remains at 166, of whom 110 are male (66%) and 56 female (34%). The median age is 79 years.
Moreover, according to the Health Ministry 200 patients are getting treatment in hospitals island-wide, of whom 57 in serious condition. Specifically 30 are intubated, 6 are in an Intensive Care Unit and 21 in Acute Care Unit.
From the 11,163 tests conducted on Friday 2,330 were PCR and 8,833 antigen rapid tests.
