Police report 53 citizens and 6 premises’ owners for violations of COVID-19 measures

Cyprus Police reported 53 citizens and 6 premises` owners in checks for violations of measures aiming to contain spread of the coronavirus pandemic.


A Police press officer told CNA that a total of 1,615 checks were conducted the last 24 hours island-wide, with the majority of violations associated with the no use of protective mask in public spaces.


In Nicosia the Police carried out 261 checks and 18 citizens and 1 premise owner were reported.


In Limassol the checks amounted to 323 and the Police reported 16 citizens and one premise owner while in Larnaca the checks were 363 with 14 citizens and 1 premise owner reported.


In Paphos the Police carried out 239 checks reporting 2 citizens and 3 premises’ owners.


In Famagusta the checks were 330 with 4 citizens reported, while in Morphou 68 checks were carried out with no violations. The Marine Police carried out 31 checks with no violations reported.
