Police fines 22 individuals and 5 establishment owners over Covid protective measures violations

Police in Cyprus reported 22 individuals and 5 establishment owners or managers for violating measures aiming to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours that ended on 06:00 local time on Saturday, the force carried out 3,319 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.

In Nicosia, a total of 1,174 were carried out with 4 individuals and 1 establishment owner reported, in Limassol 185 checks were carried out with 7 individuals and 1 shop owner reported, in Larnaca 564 checks with 3 individuals and 1 shop owner reported, in Pafos 357 with 2 shop owners and 1 individual reported, in Famagusta 7 individuals were fined following 731 checks and in the Morphou region 146 checks were carried out with no fines issued.
