President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou said that Parliament recognizes and should prioritize the need of legislative reforms on issues of equality, diversity and integration, speaking in the first public debate organized by Cyprus University of Technology, in the context of the “Limassol Week” and the Meeting of the Rectors of the Alliance of the Eight European Universities, for the establishment of a “European University of Technology – EUt +”.
In her intervention in the discussion on ” EUt +: A beacon of equal opportunities for all, Annita Demetriou noted that one of the conclusions of the World Conference of Speakers of the Interparliamentary Union, which took place recently in Vienna, is that Parliaments, especially after the pandemic, have to prove that they are active and living cells of the society.
