The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, leaves tomorrow afternoon for Dublin, Ireland, where he will pay an official visit on 18 an 19 October.

On 18 October, President Anastasiades will hold meetings with the President of Ireland Mr Michael D. Higgins, the Prime Minister Mr Enda Kenny, the Speaker of the Lower House Mr Sean A� Fearghail, and the President of the Senate Mr Denis O’Donovan.

The President’s meetings will deal with issues relating to the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Ireland, the latest development on the Cyprus problem, European issues including Brexit, Migration, regional developments and other matters of mutual interests.

On 19 October, the President of the Republic will meet with the Mayor of Dublin Mr Brendan Carr; he will also address an event organized by the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA), a think tank, on the subject “My vision of Cyprus’ role in the European Union.”

The President of the Republic, who will be accompanied by the Government Spokesman Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will leave in the afternoon of 19 October for Maastricht in order to attend the celebrations of the European People’ Party for the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Maastricht. He will subsequently participate in the deliberations of the European Council in Brussels.

President Anastasiades will return to Cyprus in the morning of 22 October.
