Our goal is to be a pillar of stability both in Europe and in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, Defense Minister Constantinos Petrides told the press, after a mass held Wednesday morning at Apostle Varnavas’ Cathedral in Nicosia, on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day.
Replying to a question, the Minister said that Turkey`s provocative actions both in the fenced section of Famagusta and in Cyprus’ national airspace are ongoing. The Government, Petrides noted, monitors all developments and along with friendly countries is kept informed, evaluates all data and takes all necessary actions and steps.
