President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades has said that there will be no tolerance as regards the accusations by Director of Central Prison, Anna Aristotelous, who said that she has been targeted by a senior police officer who colluded with an inmate to try and compromise her.
Replying to questions in Limassol, on Sunday, the President said that he has given clear instructions to the Minister of Justice and the Chief of Police to proceed with the case.
From the moment I was informed about the case, he said, I gave explicit instructions to the Minister of Justice and the Chief of Police, adding that there can be no tolerance, if what is alleged is proven right.
The President also refuted reports that he was informed about the issue long ago calling it “fake news”.
