No references that could create unrealistic expectations in UNSG’s draft Reports, Cyprus government says

The Cyprus government noted on Saturday that the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, refrained from making any references in his draft Reports on his Good Officers Mission and the UN Peacekeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), that could create unrealistic expectations, either to Turkey or the Turkish Cypriot leadership, as regards the pursued form of a Cyprus solution.

Moreover, Government Spokesman, Marios Pelekanos, said, in a written statement, that the draft Reports will be evaluated by the government and if deemed necessary representations will be made.

Pelekanos said that the government became aware of the UN Secretary-General`s draft Reports, noting that they will be evaluated and if deemed necessary relevant representations will be made.
