Nicosia and Athens coordinate action to avert unlawful Turkish activities

President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades agreed on Friday with Greek Premier, Kyriacos Mitsotakis, to coordinate action in order to prevent unlawful Turkish activities.

According to a written announcement by Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushios, the two men had a long telephone conversation today, during which President Anastasiades informed the Greek Prime Minister for his telephone conversations with the leaders of Egypt, Israel and Lebanon.

The two men agreed, in the framework of the close cooperation between the two governments, to proceed in a concerted manner, taking appropriate action to avert Turkey’s unlawful activities and its pursuit emanating from the illegal memorandum of understanding for the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas, signed with Libya.
