New Permanent Representative of Cyprus in Geneva accredited to the UN Office and the World Trade Organization

The Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the international organizations stationed in Geneva, Ambassador George Kasoulides, presented on 16 June 2017 his credentials to the Director General of the United Nations in Geneva, Michael MA�ller.

Receiving the credentials of Ambassador Kasoulides, MA�ller referred to the wide range of activities of the UN Office in Geneva, as well as to the various initiatives promoted recently in the areas of its competence.

Kasoulides thanked, on his part, the Director General for the briefing and expressed the support of the Republic of Cyprus to the activities of the Office. He further reiterated Cyprus gratitude to the UN for the continuous engagement to the Cyprus problem, with the aim to reach a solution.

On the same day, Ambassador Kasoulides presented his credentials to the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Roberto AzevA�do, as the new Permanent Representative of Cyprus. Kasoulides reiterated Cyprus’ commitment, as a member of the EU, to the efforts to establish and empower a multilateral trade system.

On his part, Roberto AzevA�do expressed his appreciation for Cyprus’ firm support to the work of WTO, adding that he looks forward in continuing and further enhancing the cooperation.
