The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Brazil, Mr Charalambos Kafkarides, presented on 27 October, his credentials to the President of the country, Mr Michel Temer, during an official ceremony held in Brasilia.
After the credentials ceremony, the Ambassador had a meeting with President Temer, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Jose Serra and the Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Mr Marcos Galvao. The meeting focused, inter alia, on bilateral relations, developments in the Cyprus problem, and the political situation in the wider region.
Ambassador Kafkarides conveyed Cyprus’ gratitude for Brazil’s positive stance vis-A�-vis the Cyprus issue, noting that the objective is to reach a settlement on the basis of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law principles.
