National report on COVID-19 reflects increasing trend in epidemiological indexes in Cyprus

The National Surveillance Report for COVID-19, published on Friday by the Ministry of Health, reflects an increasing trend in the last few days among most epidemiological indexes in Cyprus. The reproduction rate R(t) is estimated at 1.20 (1.16 – 1.25).

Up to November 22nd, 2021, 129,364 COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed, of which 590 died due to COVID-19. The case fatality risk stands at 0.5%.

In the last 14 days (9 – 22 November, 2021), 4,204 cases were diagnosed. The 14-day cumulative diagnosis rate is 473.4 per 100,000 population. The median age was 34 years, 53.3% were females (2,241), 46.7% males (1,961), and for two cases information was unknown at the moment.
