Mortgages value drops by Euros 62.28 million in April

The value of real estate mortgages in April 2018 dropped by Euros 62.28 million and was recorded at Euros 237.34 million in the whole of Cyprus, Land Registry data published on Wednesday show.

The number of mortgages was in April 1,317 compared to 1,804 in March when their value was Euros 299.63 million.

Nicosia District saw a significant rise in mortgage value despite a drop in the actual number of mortgages.

The value of mortgages came to Euros 101.93 million compared to Euros 87.66 million in the previous month. The number of mortgages dropped in April of 2018 to 488 compared to 643 in March of this year.

In Larnaka District the value of mortgages came to Euros 35.48 million compared to Euros 34.46 million in March, with the number of mortgages also recording a drop to 245 from 313 in the previous month.

In Limassol District, the value of mortgages dropped in April 2018 to Euros 71.20 million from Euros 112.05 million in March. The number of mortgages dropped to 342 from 509.

In Pafos the value of mortgages dropped in April to Euros 18.16 million from Euros 45.59 million in March. The number of mortgages fell to 166 from 237.

In Famagusta District the value of mortgages fell this April to Euros 10.55 million from Euros 19.84 million in the previous month. The number of mortgages dropped to 76, from 102 in March.
