Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues announcement regarding Agung volcano eruption

Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an announcement regarding eruption of Agung volcano in Bali, Indonesia.

Reminding that volcanic cloud has led to temporary suspension of flights from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Foreign Ministry encourages Cypriot citizens who are affected by the situation to contact their travel agents and / or airlines to arrange their flights.

Foreign Affairs Ministry, recommends to Cypriot citizens who are in Indonesia, particularly Bali, to be cautious and remain outside the designated vacant zone (ranging from 9 to 12 km from the volcano crater) and follow the instructions of the local authorities and also follow the media.

The Foreign Ministry also calls on Cypriots who intend to travel to the area, to re-evaluate the situation and get informed about developments before arranging and realising their trip.

In case of emergency, Cypriot citizens can contact the following telephone numbers and / or visit the website www.oikade.gov.cy for registration in the voluntary registration system of Cypriot citizens who are for any reason overseas.
