Minister of Agriculture meets new German Ambassador

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment Costas Kadis met on Wednesday with thew new German Ambassador to Cyprus Anke Schlimm.


According to an official press release, Kadis and Schlimm focused on the new EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which is under discussion, during which Cyprus has exerted efforts aiming for the inclusion of support for farmers, including farmers from Cyprus, facing especially difficult conditions and problems such as adverse weather conditions and droughts.


In this context, Kadis briefed the new German Ambassador that Cyprus has developed close cooperation with the EU southern states which face similar challenges which are mainly due the impact of climate change.
