Mikhail Gorbachev left his mark in the history of the 20th century, Cyprus’ President, Nicos Anastasiades, said in a tweet, extending his condolences for the death of the former Soviet leader.
“My sincere condolences for the passing of Mikhail Gorbachev, a politician who, undeniably, left his mark in the history of the 20th century,” President Anastasiades said.
The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Russia, said in its own message that Gorbachev was “a politician with deep and profound legacy and he will be undoubtedly remembered for his immense contribution to world peace.”
