MFA Permanent Secretary to hold political consultations in Romania

Minas Hadjimichael, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, departs today for Bucharest, where tomorrow he will hold political consultations with the Romanian State Secretary for Bilateral and Strategic Affairs in the Euro-Atlantic Area, George Ciamba.

A press release by the Ministry says that before the consultations, Hadjimichael will be received by the Foreign Minister of Romania, Teodor Viorel Melescanu.

In view of the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU by Romania from 1 January 2019, the political consultations will touch upon issues high on the European agenda, as well as the bilateral relations and the latest developments regarding the Cyprus problem will also be discussed.

On the same day, the Permanent Secretary will also have a meeting with the Romanian State Secretary for Energy, Doru Visan, during which a Memorandum of Understanding on energy cooperation between Cyprus and Romania will be signed.
