Lebanese Defence Minister Yacoub Riad Sarraf will pay a two-day official visit to Cyprus starting on Thursday.
A Defence Ministry statement said that Minister of Defence, Christoforos Fokaides will welcome, during an official ceremony at the National Guard General Staff premises, his Lebanese counterpart. The two will hold a private meeting followed by talks with the participation of delegations from both countries.
A bilateral Military Cooperation Programme will be signed during the meeting.
The talks will concentrate on bilateral ties, security concerns in the wider region as well as terrorism, immigration and the humanitarian crisis caused by extreme violence and armed conflicts, the statement added.
The visit takes place only a few days before the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades pays an official visit to Lebanon. It also concludes the round of contacts Fokaides has had with his counterparts from Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon.
