Labour Ministry’s budget to be presented before MPs on Monday

Minister of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance Zeta Emilianidou presents her ministry’s budget for 2020 before the members of the parliamentary committee of Financial and Budgetary affairs on Monday.

It is the last ministry budget presented before the committee, signaling the conclusion of parliamentary scrutiny of the state budget for 2020, ahead of a three-day debate at the parliament’s plenary on December 9, 10 and 11, which will culminate with its approval or rejection.

The presentation of the ministry’s budget before the Committee has been set for 0915 hours local time (0615 GMT).

Next Friday, newly appointed Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides will address the plenary for the first time with his speech on the state budget.

During tomorrow’s meeting, members of the committee will also discuss government amendments on the budget for next year, a draft report of the committee and will exchange views on proposed amendments by parliamentary parties.
