Justice Minister pledges complaints about football matches will come under full scrutiny

Any complaints made about football matches or anything that concerns football will come under full scrutiny and the government will not allow for these complaints to be covered up or concealed, Justice Minister George Savvides said on Monday.

The Minister was invited to comment on the complaints made earlier by Omonia Nicosia football club about corruption and about UEFA’s visit to Cyprus on ‘red notices’. He said that it is difficult to file corruption and manipulation cases but expressed his hope that specific facts will be discovered and examined.

The Minister is set to meet with the UEFA delegation on Tuesday.
