July has recorded the best results in tourism revenue for Cyprus.
According to data released on Friday by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached Euros 402,2 mln in July 2016 compared to Euros 342,1 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 17,6%.
For the period January – July 2016 revenue from tourism is estimated at Euros 1.233,4 mn compared to Euros 1.073,0 mn in the corresponding period of 2015, recording an increase of 14,9%.
Tourism Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis in a post at his twitter account pointed out that the increase in tourism revenue, has exceeded the increase in the arrivals of the month.
The per capita expenditure for July 2016 reached Euros 834,25 to Euros 825,37 compared to the same month of 2015. The average duration of stay dropped to 9.7 days from 10.2 in July 2015.
