The Industrial Turnover Index reached in August 2021 131.3 units (base 2015=100), recording an increase of 18.5% compared to August 2020. The Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus announced on Friday that for the period January-August 2021, the index recorded an increase of 11.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In manufacturing, the Industrial Turnover Index for August 2021 reached 122.2 units, recording an increase of 10.1% compared to August 2020. Increases were also noted in the sectors of electricity supply (+51.8%) and water supply and materials recovery (+46.8%). A negative change was observed in the sector of mining and quarrying (-2.4%).
