The industrial turnover reached its highest level ever for the month in April this year, recording a strong increase on a 12-month basis, according to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus on Tuesday.
In particular, in April 2022 the Industry Turnover Index reached 161.4 points (2015 base=100), an increase of 12.7% compared to April 2021.
For the period January-April 2022, the index marked an increase of 19.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
More specifically, in the manufacturing sector, the index reached 164.8 points, in April 2022, a 6.7% increase compared to April 2021.
There was also an increase in the electricity supply sector by 58.4%, as well as in water supply and materials recovery by 23.0%.
The mining and quarrying sector recorded a decrease of 7.9% compared to April 2021.
