Cyprus House President Dimitris Syllouris travels to Rome on Thursday to attend the extraordinary Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of the European Union on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome.
The Conference will take place March 16-17 and will be hosted by the Italian House and Senate.
An official announcement says the Conference will deal with the future of Europe and its integration and will be addressed by the European Council President Donald Tusk, the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani and the Vice President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, as well as the Prime Minister of Italy Paolo Gentiloni, the President of the Senate Pietro Grasso and President of the Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini.
Syllouris is set to have meetings with both Grasso and Boldrini as well as the Prime Minister of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The House Speaker will then travel to San Marino to attend the 11th Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of Small States of Europe, between March 21-22.
