House President stresses need for cooperation between small states

House President Demetris Syllouris has stressed the need for cooperation between small states, in the framework of the EU and other international organisations with a view to secure their joint interests. Addressing the 11th Conference of the Speakers of Parliament of the Small States of Europe taking place in San Marino, he also expressed dissatisfaction at the fact that the EU chooses to manage the refugee crisis by keeping immigrants away from European borders, and instead it supports financially third countries that are hosting them. Speaking during a discussion at the Conference, Syllouris said he believes that the cooperation of small states in tourism and culture is useful.
