House President sends congratulatory message to Thai counterpart for rescue operation

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris has sent a message to his counterpart of Thailand, Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, expressing his congratulations on the successful rescue operation of the 12 boys and their coach, who were trapped in a cave due to the floods.

A press release by the Parliament of Cyprus says that Syllouris congratulated the special forces of Thailand on the courage and determination they have shown throughout the rescue mission.

He also expressed his wishes for quick recovery of the boys and their coach.

Meanwhile, Cypriot MP Nikos Tornaritis, as head of the Cyprus delegation at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, has sent a congratulatory message to Nipat Thonglek, head of the Thai Parliaments delegation at the Assembly, expressing his relief, for the positive outcome of the rescue operation.

Tornaritis noted that this outstanding achievement was made possible due to the dedication and hard work of the Thai authorities and their international team of partners.
