House President sends condolences to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris sent today a letter of condolences to the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Parliament of Iran, regarding the attacks at the Iranian Parliament and the Ayatollah Khomeini’s Mausoleum.

It is with great shock and profound sorrow that we have been informed of the cowardly attacks at the Iranian Parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini’s Mausoleum, in which at least twelve people lost their lives and many more were injured. We unreservedly condemn these indiscriminate acts of terror and hereby reaffirm our commitment to fight this scourge, a global challenge, which must be decisively and quickly defeated, says the letter.

Syllouris expresses the deepest condolences on behalf of all members of the Cyprus House of Representatives and on his own behalf and conveys our sincere sympathy to the families who mourn the loss of their loved ones, as well as to the friendly people of Iran and your country’s leadership. He also wished a rapid recovery to all those wounded.
