House President in Dublin for Dail A�ireann centennial celebrations

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris is in Dublin for the centennial celebrations of the first session of the Dail A�ireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament, and is holding a series of meetings there.

Syllouris is visiting Dublin at the invitation of the Ceann Comhairle or President of the Parliament Sean A� Fearghail, who hosted an official dinner on Sunday evening for the Presidents of Parliament.

On Monday, Syllouris met with Executive Director of investment agency IDA Ireland Mary Buckley, in the presence of Michalis Michail, President of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), during which both sides expressed their wish to strengthen ties in the field of investments.

Syllouris also addended a lunch hosted by Minister of State for European Affairs Helen McEntee in honour of the Irish Parliament’s guests.

The House President will attend the special centenary sitting of both Houses of the Oireachtas, to be addressed by Irish President Michael Higgins.

Later on, Higgins will receive the Presidents of Parliaments at the A�ras an Uachtarain or Presidential Palace.

Syllouris will also attend a reception hosted by Taoiseach or Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

He will be wrapping up his visit on Tuesday with separate meetings with A� Fearghail, Cathaoirleach or Chairman of the Seanad A�ireann or Senate Denis O’ Donovan and Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection Pat Breen. He will also attend a working lunch with the Cyprus-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group.
