House President holds contacts with Monegasque Ministers

House President Dimitris Syllouris had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Monaco Giles Tonelli and Finance and Economy Minister Jean Castellini on Friday, in the framework of a visit to the country, following an invitation of the President of the National Council, Stephane Valeri.

A parliamentary announcement says that during the meetings they discussed the political and economic challenges faced by small states as well as the wish to strengthen economic cooperation between Cyprus and Monaco, as well as the exchange of know-how in particular areas.

Monegasque Ministers informed Syllouris of the negotiations currently underway with the EU with a view to signing an Association Agreement. They touched upon the particularities of the small states in the context of their relationship with the EU and Syllouris said that Cyprus can provide assistance to Monaco based on its experience as an EU member state.
