House President has meetings with MPs from India, Jordan, Iran and Kuwait

The excellent level of relations and enhancing them even further were discussed during meetings House of Representatives President Demetris Syllouris had with the heads of delegation of India, Jordan, Iran and Kuwait, who are in Cyprus taking part in a session of the Standing Committee on Economy and Sustainable Growth of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, between 26 and 27 June, in Pissouri, Limassol.

During the meeting with head of the Indian delegation Sanjay Jaiswal the excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and India in various sectors were reconfirmed, a parliament press release issued here today says.

Syllouris expressed his thanks on the stable principled position of India in relation to the Cyprus problem while Jaiswal spoke of the support India enjoys from Cyprus in the context of the EU, it adds.

During the meeting with the head of the Jordanian delegation Barakat Al Nimer the close friendly relations between Cyprus and Jordan were reiterated.

The excellent level of relations between Cyprus and Iran and the mutual wish to further enhance them was stressed during Syllouris meeting with the head of the Iranian delegation Moshen Koohkan Rizi, the press release says. The Iranian MP reiterated his countrys support of the efforts for a solution of the Cyprus problem and thanked Cyprus for its support on the Iran nuclear deal.

During the meeting with the head of the Kuwaiti delegation Khalil Abul views were exchanged on an initiative which aims to enhance cooperation between parliaments of smaller states and the possibility that it focuses on technology, innovation and scientific growth in general.
