House President and Qatar ambassador discuss Cyprus problem and investments

The Cyprus problem, Qatars interest in investments as well as developments in the Middle East were discussed during a meeting on Thursday between House of Representatives President and Acting President Demetris Syllouris and new Qatar Ambassador to Nicosia Sultan Ibrahim Yousef Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud.

During the meeting Syllouris referred to the ongoing process aiming to resolve the Cyprus problem and reunite Cyprus which has been divided since Turkey invaded the island in 1974 and occupied its northern third and spoke of “the obstacles posed by Turkey”, an official press release says.

On his part the ambassador of Qatar stressed his countrys great interest for further cooperation between the two countries in the area of investments, it adds.
