House plenary to convene as soon as bills to halt coronavirus spread are submitted

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris and parliamentary political party leaders or their representatives decided to convene the House plenary as soon as bills concerning the implementation of the measures decided to curb the spread of coronavirus, are brought before it.

During a meeting earlier Wednesday held via teleconferencing, the Speaker and the political party leaders decided that within 24 hours before the plenary is convened, the House Finance and Labour committees will meet jointly to examine the bills.

Today’s meeting examined other issues concerning the role of the House to halt the pandemic.
