A meeting with the committee of experts and officials about the “Cyprus File” has been convened for Friday, September 16, 2022, by the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou.
The purpose of the meeting is to coordinate actions and handle individual issues related to the implementation of the Cooperation Protocol agreed between the Greek Parliament and the House of Representatives for access to material in the “Cyprus File”, a parliament press release says.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. Repeated rounds of UN-led peace talks have so far failed to yield results. The latest round of negotiations, in July 2017 at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana ended inconclusively.
