The issue of homosexuality has been superseded, Deputy Premier, Transport Minister and rightwing League party leader Matteo Salvini said Tuesday about General Roberto Vannacci, sacked from his post at the military geographical institute after he self-published a book saying gays are abnormal.
“As far as the debate over homosexuals or heterosexuals I believe that it is absolutely superseded,” said Salvini, who has praised Vannacci for speaking out.
“For me there are men, women, boys, girls. Then if someone is homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, pansexual, or transsexual it is their choice, we are in a free country and everyone lives their private lives, their sexuality, as they want.”
