The health condition of a little girl, 4 years old, with streptococcus is serious, Cyprus News Agency has learned and she is being monitored by a specialist who arrived Monday from Israel. If needed, instructions have been given for the little girl to be transferred to Israel for further treatment.
The 4-year-old was admitted to the hospital last week with Influenza A virus and on Sunday she was tested positive for streptococcus and was intubated.
The Health Ministry said yesterday that serious strep cases were reported in Cyprus in the past but this is the first case since the spread of the virus in the UK and the deaths announced.
