Harmonized Price Index increase 0,9% annual rate for June 2017

In June 2017, the Harmonized Price Index (HICP) in Cyprus increased by 0,9% when compared to June 2016, while compared to May of 2017 increased by 0,3%, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

For the period between January and June 2017 the HICP recorded an increase of 1,2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

It is noted, that the HICP in Euro area for the last month is based on EUROSTAT estimation (flash estimate).

Compared to June 2016, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels was the category with the biggest change (10,4%).

In comparison to HICP of May 2017, the category with the largest increase was the Restaurant and Hotels (4,1%) whereas decrease was observed in Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-2,3%).

For the period between January and June 2017, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest change was noted in Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels (9,0%).

As regards to the economic origin, the largest change was observed in Energy with an increase of 9,2% when compared to the index of June 2016.
