Takis Hadjidemetriou, former Greek Cypriot head of the bicommunal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage said he approaches the island’s monuments with awe and modesty, adding that the key to harmonious collaboration was the knowledge of the truth.
In an interview with CN? on the occasion of his departure from the committee, Hadjidemetriou said the “cultural dimension of the destruction is huge and priceless. It is a major trauma in Cyprus’ historical journey”.
