Greek proposals ready, discussion on Security and Guarantees begins

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias has said that the Greek side has prepared its documents on security and guarantees and they are ready to be submitted at today’s discussion at Table 1 on Security and Guarantees which is underway.

Arriving at the site of the Conference on Cyprus at Crans Montana, Kotzias said the Greek documents concern the monitor mechanism and implementation of decisions, the removal of occupation troops and the abolition of the treaty of guarantees.

I think it is a week when we need moderation, to be careful and to re-think because the responsibility is great for all of us, and we will not allow those who think they can prevent Cyprus to turn into what I and the SG adopts, a normal state.

Not a perfect state but a state just like the rest. Where the state will decide for its own future and a state where its children can dream of living in an independent and sovereign Cyprus state, he added.

Asked on his arrival if the Turkish proposals are ready, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Yes, we are always ready.
