Greek FM issues statement on the 23rd anniversary of the death of Giannos Kranidiotis

The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the 23rd anniversary of the death of Giannos Kranidiotis, noting that his legacy is an inspiration and guidance for Greece and Cyprus in their efforts for a Cyprus solution.

 

“Giannos Kranidiotis was a politician who served the European Union’s principles and values with vigor and was one of the strong supporters of its enlargement,” the Greek Foreign Ministry says.

 

“With his distinguished diplomatic insight, he made a great contribution to Greek and Cypriot Hellenism,” the statement stresses.

 

“Today, 23 years after his unexpected death, in these particularly challenging times for Hellenism, his legacy is an inspiration and guidance for Greece and Cyprus to continue their tireless efforts for a just and viable solution of the Cyprus problem and for a strong and effective response to the common challenges and threats we face,” the Greek Foreign Ministry concludes.
