The President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades attended the opening ceremony of the leaders’ summit within COP26, the UN Climate Change conference held in Glasgow.
On the sidelines of the summit he had the opportunity to hold talks with a number of other leaders and he also watched the National Statements of the first group of Heads of States and Governments.
Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos, who accompanies the President in COP26 along with the Minister of Agriculture Costas Kadis, summarised the day’s schedule, noting that following the initial National Statements the host country leader Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold reception for the participating leaders.
