Gluten-Free Menu for Celiac Patients

A gluten free lunch menu was prepared by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students and Gluten Free Chef Suleyman Engin, following the Gluten-Free Living conference presented by Suleyman Engin. The aim of the Gluten Free Restaurant Menu prepared for the first time was to create awareness about Celiac Disease.

The menu attracted a great deal of interest from EMU Tourism Faculty academic staff, students and members of the Celiac Association. The menu comprised of a range of starters and snacks as well as soup, a main dish and dessert.

At the end of the meal, members of the Celiac Association stated that they haven’t enjoyed such a nice meal for a very long time thanking chef Suleyman Engin and EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kilic. In a speech of his own, Prof. Dr. Kilic noted that the Tourism Faculty values social responsibility projects that allow for both student development and contributions to society. Prof. Dr. Kilic concluded by noting that EMU Faculty of Tourism is trying to fulfil its social responsibility obligations in the best way possible.
