The General Government’s financial assets stood at Euros 15,42 billion at the end of December 2016, while its financial liabilities were at Euros 28,39 billion, according to figures released on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
The quarterly financial accounts compiled by the Central Bank, showed that the General Government’s currency and deposits amounted to Euros 9,09 billion and the debt securities in its possession stood at Euros 220 million.
According to the figures, the loans granted by the Central Bank stood at Euros 1,18 billion, it possessed shares of Euros 4,18 billion and other financial instruments of Euros 740 million.
As regards its financial liabilities, the General Government owned currency and deposits of Euros 7,66 billion, debt securities of Euros 6,77 billion, loans of Euros 13,15 billion and other financial instruments of Euros 804 million.
