Foreign trade statistics for January till October 2017

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country) for January-October 2017. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified by the 6th digit commodity code and by partner country.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

a. Total imports in January-October 2017 amounted to Euros 6.319,3 mn as compared to Euros 5.578,7 mn in January- October 2016. Total exports in January- October 2017 were Euros 2.450,8 mn compared to Euros 2.300,3 mn in January-October 2016. The trade deficit was Euros 3.868,5 mn in January- October 2017 compared to Euros 3.278,4 mn in the corresponding period of 2016.

b. Total exports of domestically produced goods, excluding stores and provisions, in January- October 2017 were Euros 1.005,4 mn compared to Euros 762,0 mn in January- October 2016. Total domestic exports of industrial products in January- October 2017 were Euros 915,2 mn compared to Euros 664,1 mn in January-October 2016. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in January- October 2017 were Euros 84,4 mn compared to Euros 88,3 mn in January- October 2016.
