Foreign Ministry strongly condemns bloody attack in Strasbourg and stands in solidarity with France, Samuel tells CNA

Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Demetris Samuel, has strongly condemned the bloody attack on Tuesday evening in Strasbourg, at the heart of Europe, which claimed human lives and caused the injury of a number of people.

On behalf of the Ministry and the Foreign Minister I express our full solidarity during this difficult time with the French government and people and our sincere condolences to the victims’ families, Samuel told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).

Moreover, he recommended Cypriots who are in the region to be constantly updated about the situation and fully abide by the instructions of the French security forces, noting that there are no Cypriots among the people who lost their lives or those injured.

Samuel said that the members of the Cypriot delegation, headed by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, who are in Strasbourg, as well as a team of Cypriot journalists, are well and safe.

He stressed that the Ministry has been following the developments from the very beginning and is in constant contact with the Cypriot delegation in Strasbourg, the Embassy of Cyprus in Paris and the Permanent Representation of Cyprus at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
