Foreign minister of Cyprus steps down to pursue presidential bid

Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides announced on Sunday that he was resigning from his post in order to focus on a presidential bid. “I am not hiding the fact that I would be interested in running for the 2023 elections,” Christodoulides, 48, said in a statement from the Foreign Ministry in Nicosia. The politician from the conservative Democratic Rally party said he would give more details of his plans at a later date.
