FMs of Cyprus and Slovenia discuss further enhancement of two countries’ relations

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and Slovenia Nikos Christodoulides and Miro Cerar discussed on Wednesday in Ljubljana about the further enhancement of the two countries’ relations both at the bilateral and the European level, during a private meeting they had.

The meeting took place at the Foreign Ministry in the framework of the official visit which Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades is paying to Slovenia. Minister Christodoulides informed his Slovenian counterpart on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.

According to a press release issued by the Presidency, the two ministers also discussed issues concerning the Memorandum of Understanding for Political Consultations they signed earlier today, as well as issues related to the strengthening of bilateral relations in European and international fora, and particularly in the EU framework.

Moreover they agreed the exchange of views and visits between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries on issue of mutual interest and particularly as regards their cooperation with like-minded EU member states.

The two ministers underlined the determination of the two parties to exchange expertise and know-how on issues of mutual interests and particularly the expertise of the Republic of Cyprus as regards regional issues, focusing on the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean.
